Amrita, meaning Nectar of immortality, was born out of pure love of simplicity and sound.

Amrita plays in a musical style they call Global Time Travel, a fusion of old and new, East and West, urban and rural, combining classical and folk elements from India with contemporary American popular, folk, meditation and dance music, as well as other world traditions.

Amrita began in 2005 with a recording collaboration between Thomas Flanagan and Jeremy Dyen. Since those inspiring initial recordings, Amrita has recorded three CDs, licensed music for Usiloquoy Dance Designs and various yoga DVDs, developed and conducted Nada Yoga workshops and performed as a duo and in collaboration with some of Philadelphia's top musicians.
